GENERAL GUIDELINES

THE GENERAL GUIDELINES ARE LISTED BELOW:

  • The attempt must be carried out in a location accessible to the public for observation.
  • The event must run continuously without any stoppage, with each minute precisely lasting 60 seconds.
  • Participants are allowed breaks and pauses, but the clock must not be paused at any time during the attempt.
  • Clear and visible signals must be given to indicate the start and end of the attempt.
  • Two timekeepers, each equipped with a stopwatch accurate to 0.001 seconds, must be present to time the attempt.
  • The presence of two independent witnesses is mandatory.
  • A detailed covering letter should be provided, including the participant’s name, age, occupation, postal address, date, time, location, witness details, and a brief description of the record attempt.
  • The evidence procedure must be followed, including witness statements from two independent witnesses in the prescribed format. The witness statements should include the record measurements, method of measurement, and remarks, confirming adherence to the guidelines during the record attempt. The Evidence Guide document provides important information on who can act as an independent witness and what is considered independent.
RECORD SPECIFIC GUIDELINES
  • To ensure that your record attempt is successful, it is essential to follow the specific rules that are applicable to your record. These rules provide guidance on the appropriate approach to your attempt, including the things that you should and should not do. Adherence to these guidelines is critical for the approval of your record, and they cannot be ignored.
  • It is important to note that there are additional rules that apply to your record, which are outlined in the Record Specific Guidelines. These guidelines contain specific evidence requirements and other essential instructions that are unique to your record. They are in addition to the General Guidelines that apply to all record attempts.
  • If you have already applied for the record attempt, you should have received a copy of the Record Specific Guidelines via email. It is important to refer to these guidelines to ensure that you meet all the requirements necessary for your record attempt to be successful.
  • If you have not yet applied for the record attempt, you should do so before submitting the specified evidence. Applying for the guidelines will ensure that you have all the necessary information to make a successful record attempt. Remember that adherence to both the General Guidelines and the Record Specific Guidelines is crucial for the approval of your record, so it is essential to follow them closely.
